The citizen portal allows you to register to vote, check your registration status, find a polling place, or apply to vote.
It’s good practice to check your registration before you vote to ensure all information is correct. This is crucial to do if you have made any changes to your name or address. By using the citizen portal, making these changes should take a few minutes. Just simply log in with the requested information. From there you will be able to make any changes.
What about party affiliation?
Virginia is one of 19 states who do not track party affiliation in registration. This means for primaries, you can vote in either party primary regardless of personal affiliation. You may vote in person or request an absentee ballot here.
